Chocolate Cake

Preheat Oven to 300 degrees and bake for 50 minutes

Ingredients:

1/2 cup

Buttermilk

1 teaspoon baking Soda

2 sticks of butter

4 Tablespoons of cocoa

1 cup water

2 cups all purpose flour

2 cups sugar

2 unbeaten eggs

Directions:

Measure 1/2 cup of buttermilk in a measuring cup that is larger than 1/2 cup- add the baking soda and stir (It foams up to more than 1/2 cup so this is why you need a larger Cup)

Set this aside for now then in a large bowl mix the flour and the sugar.

In a pan on the stove bring the butter, cocoa and water to a boil and then pour it over the flour and the sugar and mix. Add 2 unbeaten eggs and the buttermilk and soda that you mixed together earlier.

Pour into greased and floured pan- 11" wide x 17" long x 1" deep - bake for 50 minutes at 300 degrees

CHOCOLATE ICING FOR CAKE

Ingredients:

4 level tablespoons cocoa

1 stick butter

6 Tablespoons buttermilk

1 box powdered sugar

2 teaspoons Vanilla flavoring

1 cup nuts

Directions:

In large pan, bring the cocoa, butter and buttermilk to a boil then add box of confectioners -powered sugar, vanilla and nuts.

Pour over hot cake when you take it out of the oven
